Patrol Section

The patrol section commander is Captain Michael Creighton. His office is located in the Public Safety Building at 141 N. Ross Street, Suite A, and he may be contacted at (334) 501-3118. He is assisted by Lieutenants Matt Coffey and Cody Hill. The Patrol Section is staffed by approximately 80 officers and is responsible for patrolling neighborhoods, residential and business areas and the campus of Auburn University.

The patrol section's police vehicles utilize mobile computing. Motorcycles, bicycles and motorized electric vehicles are also used to patrol the police jurisdiction of the City of Auburn and the campus of Auburn University.

The patrol section coordinates and provides staff for functions requiring police security, including university sporting events, school functions and private events.

The patrol section also staffs a traffic unit dedicated to addressing traffic concerns in residential areas, business districts and school zones.
