USTA Auburn-Opelika Junior Team Tennis

Why wait until high school to join a tennis team? Or maybe you want to join another team! USTA Junior Team Tennis, or JTT, brings together boys and girls, ages 8 to 18, to play singles, doubles and mixed doubles against other coed teams. Beyond being fun and a great form of exercise, USTA Junior Team Tennis is a competitive, level-based environment that promotes individual growth, social development and life skills.

JTT Divisions:

• 10-Under Green Dot (4 team members)
• 12-Under Green Dot (3 boys, 3 girls per team)
• 14-Under Beginner Yellow Ball (3 boys, 3 girls per team)
• 18-Under Beginner (3 boys, 3 girls per team)
• 18-Under Intermediate (3 boys, 3 girls per team)

Junior Team Tennis is a nationwide program that provides kids with an opportunity to play tennis in a fun, social and safe team-based setting. To learn more about this program in the state of Alabama click on the link below:

Age divisions range from 10 & Under through 18 & Under. Teams may be formed by tennis pros, coaches, or parents (any adult team leader must complete Safe Play certification, found on the USTA Website). Each 12U, 14U, and 18U team must include at least three boys and three girls.  All participants must be USTA members to register; junior memberships are available at no cost.

JTT typically offers spring, summer, and fall sessions each year. Players interested in joining a team should first check with their tennis pro to see if a JTT team is available. If a team is not available, you can email Melissa Shaver at mshaver@auburnalabama.org, and she will help place you on a team.
